My Racing Safety Documentary - A Deeper Look

I published my first Youtube video, and also first attempt at a documentary on Monday April 13, 2026.

The process itself wasn’t nearly as complicated as I felt it would be. I started the process back in February of 2026 at the World Racing League (WRL) Race at Eagles Canyon Raceway (ECR) in Decatur, Texas. I really didn’t have a plan on what to film or even what I really wanted from the final project when I originally went out. I was only there for about two hours, worked with Elias Garcia from Rev Match Media, as he came out to help me, and got some B-roll.

As time wore on and I procrastinated putting the video together, it got to a point where I realized I didn’t have enough actual content discussing anything regarding safety. I had some good B-roll, but that was about it. So I got really lucky with the fact that NASA TX was putting on an event at ECR that I would be able to attend in order to actually get the content regarding race safety, from the people who are involved and responsible for it.

Of course a lot of my project is me talking, but I did manage an interview with Rob Williams, a driver for about 15 years, Marie Adams, the regional director of NASA TX, and one of the NASA officials. I might’ve missed some more opportunity with some interviews considering I had met a number of people at the start of the weekend on Friday that weren’t there on Sunday when I went back. I had to unfortunately miss Saturday due other obligations, but even with that, the interviews I got I felt went well and i’m incredibly grateful for the few people who, while having a bunch of other stuff to do that weekend, put aside some time to help me out.

I also have to mention that the footage of INDY NXT and GR86 cup from Arlington was done by Elias Garcia, as I was out of town and unable to be there, much less with media credentials. So huge thanks to him.

Overall, as an introduction to the video creation space if you will, I felt the whole process went incredibly well, and I’m defiantly up for doing more of this kind of thing in the future.
